Terms of Service

Last updated 31 August 2026. Receipts is operated by Receiptsproof Pte. Ltd. (UEN 202638224N), a private limited company incorporated in Singapore.

The most important term, first. Receipts produces evidence, not a verdict. It does not certify that you wrote something and it cannot force anyone to believe you. It is not unforgeable, and we never claim it is. What it does is show how a document was written, in detail, so a human can judge for themselves.

What you get

Free, forever: keystroke recording, replay, proof links, all signal checks visible to whoever you share with, backup to your own Google Drive, and Manual snapshot import: an explicit read-only import of Google Docs revision snapshots that you bring in yourself. A record imported this way carries no independent Google signature and says so on its face. The evidence is never paywalled.
Defense Pack, $19 once: the in-app history list is kept indefinitely rather than showing the last 40 days, for as long as Receipts operates, plus the printable copy, the letter for your teacher, and the Google Docs cross-check: Receipts asks Google directly, in your browser, for the revision history of the one document you choose, and compares it with your record. That direct cross-check is the paid feature; Manual snapshot import stays free. One payment. It does not renew. To be clear: every record you have saved to your own Drive or shared as a proof link stays fully usable for free, forever; paying is for convenience and polish, never for the evidence itself.
Premium, $4 per month: the same paid features on a monthly basis. Cancel at any time.
Nothing expires. On the free plan the main list shows the last 40 days; older records remain openable and downloadable under Older records. They are not deleted and they are not locked. A paid plan keeps every record in the main list instead.

A paid plan protects writing you do from that point on. If you have never written in Receipts, buying a plan today does not create a record for an essay you wrote last week. The one exception is the Google Docs cross-check, which can read revision history Google already holds.

What this is not

It is not a guarantee of any academic outcome, and not a promise that nobody will ever question your work. Your school decides what it accepts as evidence.
It is not an AI detector and produces no score claiming a text is or is not AI-written.
It cannot prove a negative. It cannot show that you did not read text elsewhere and retype it, and no tool can.
Absence of a signal is not evidence against anyone. Phone keyboards, dictation and assistive input legitimately produce fewer signals.

Your responsibilities

Use Receipts for your own work. Do not present someone else's record as yours.
Do not attempt to fabricate, tamper with or automate a record.
Keep your proof links to people you intend to show your work to. Anyone holding a link can replay that document.
Follow your school's rules. Receipts does not override them.

Your writing is yours

You own everything you write. We claim no licence over it, and could not use it in any case, because it is never sent to us. Files created in your Google Drive belong to you.

Payments and refunds

Purchases are processed by Polar, acting as merchant of record. Your receipt and your licence key are emailed by Polar. Refunds and billing questions are handled through Polar, and you can start either by replying to that receipt. If you bought something and it does not work, ask for a refund because of that and you will get one.

Your licence key is tied to the Google account and email address used for the purchase. Keep the email. Buying for someone else? Stop before paying: individual plans cannot currently be gifted or transferred to a different Google account. Do not share Google credentials or a licence key.

This refund policy covers individual Premium and Defense Pack purchases only. A school, tutoring practice or other organisation pays only under a signed order; that order and the incorporated organisation terms state its exact cancellation and refund rights.

Availability

Receipts is operated by Receiptsproof Pte. Ltd. and built and run day to day by one person. It is provided as-is, without any guarantee of uptime. An outage does not delete copies already held in your browser, exported files or your own Drive, but opening, replaying or verifying them may still require compatible software or an available Receipts site. Keep exported copies of records that matter.

Age

Receipts is intended for students, including school-age students. If you are under 18, involve a parent or guardian before any purchase. The adult purchaser and paid user must use the same Google account unless a supported beneficiary flow is stated on the checkout page. We do not currently support transferring a plan from a guardian's account to a student's different account.

These terms cover individual purchases only. If a school, district, tutoring organisation or other educational enterprise is buying a scoped service, the organisation must sign its applicable order form before payment. The order form states what is live, what is not included, and which parts of the organisation terms apply.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, liability is limited to the amount you paid, which for most people is nothing. Receipts is a tool for presenting evidence, and the consequences of any academic decision rest with your institution.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Singapore. Purchases are handled by Polar as merchant of record, and refund and billing disputes go through Polar first.

Changes

These terms may change. The date at the top will change with them, and material changes will be noted on the site.

31 August 2026: clarified that individual plans are bound to the purchaser's Google account and cannot currently be gifted or transferred, and that organisations sign a scoped order before payment.

24 August 2026: added a line under Age clarifying that purchases by a school, district, tutoring organisation or other educational enterprise are made by the organisation, not by an individual student, and are governed by the organisation terms instead.
